Kumbh Mela 2010 is going to start from January 2010 to April 2010 in Haridwar, India.

The religious story behind Kumbh is that,When when Kalasha (pot of nectar for immortality) was recovered from the churning of premodial ocean for which a tensed war between God and Demon ensued.

According to astrologers, Kumbh Mela starts when the Jupiter enters Aquarius and the Sun enters Aries. Kumbh Mela is one of the most sacred festival in India.

It takes place at the following four locations of India:

Prayag,Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh) ,
Haridwar(Uttarakhand) ,
Ujjain(Madhya Pradesh) and
Nasik (Maharashtra)

Kumbh Mela 2010 will take place in Haridwar.

The pilgrimage takes place 4 times every 12 years, once at each of the above mentioned location.
